What is Graduate Record Exam?

Graduate record exam is an entrance test for the graduation schools. It is almost like SAT. This can be given as computerized test or written format test.  The test time varies according to the type of exam the candidate is giving. This exam is divided into three sessions.

• Analytical writing
• Verbal section
• Quantitative Section

Analytical writing section– This measures your ability to express views with sound reasoning and examples on a given paragraph. in given 45 minutes.

In computerized exam, this section is carried out with word processing software and in case of written exam you may require to write more to justify your views.

Verbal Section– This includes questions on sentence completion, analogies, antonyms, and reading comprehension questions. Candidates ability to form conclusions, recognizing relationships etc. will be assessed. Computerized exam candidate has to attend 30 questions in 30 minutes of time and written candidate should answer two segments of 30 minutes each of which consist of 38 questions.

Math section– In this skills on arithmetic’s, algebra, geometry, data analysis etc. will be measured. Computer exam will have 28 questions to be answered in 45 minutes where as a written exam consist of two 30 minutes’ segments with 30 questions each.
